From The Desk of Peter Grandich
The weekend of May 20th-21st, is set to be a great time in Spring Lake, NJ.
I’m especially now looking forward to Sunday’s “Irish Afternoon Tea” event, thanks to both Irish boxer, turned actor, John Duddy, staying over from appearing at the Festival to come to movie and tea: but also veteran actor Ricky Aiello (son of Danny Aiello and my childhood friend), will join John at the event as well.
Ricky has been seen in dozens of movies and TV shows, and had a major role in my favorite Danny Aiello movie, “29th Street”. I recently spoke with Danny and learned “29th Street” is his favorite movie too (many would think Moonstruck, but having grown up with the Aiello’s, I can say it was the one character he played that was nothing like him in real life. Frank Pesce, his character in “29th Street”, is much more like the Danny I remember as my Little League coach, and whose apartment I spent a good part of my youth in). Danny blessed my wife and I on our 30th wedding anniversary by singing at our dinner.
Tickets for the Irish Tea need to be purchased in advance – email me for further details and ticket purchases.
