This past summer, the good Lord sent into my life a young man that has greatly inspired me. His name is Chris J. Nolze. I wrote about him back on October 24th. And while I hope you read what I wrote, I especially ask that you watch his short video – it’s one of the factors that has inspired me.
“In every way I have shown you that by hard work of that sort we must help the weak, and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
Despite having 21 operations battling cancer, which while now cancer-free, has left Chris with enormous daily challenges spoken about in his video, Chris has never had one “woe-is-me” moment with me. Instead, he has directed all his strength to helping others.
Chris does this through his foundation, and we’re honored to have it as one of our four charities in our $10,000 sports memorabilia charity sale (that ends this Saturday). Another of the four charities is the Ashley Lauren Foundation; and it’s their founder, Monica Vermeulen, who first introduced Chris to us.
Chris is a Steelers and Chargers fan. We honored his work by arranging for our newest Trinity team member, and former Chargers RB, Donald Brown, to meet Chris today in our office. Chris and Donald spent time together. I truly believe Donald enjoyed it every bit as much as the rest of us did.
Having just graduated college with a 4.0 average, Chris wants to become a financial adviser. While I’m going to do my best to try and convince him otherwise, I’m honored that he wishes I mentor him (but please Peter, no stock tips!).
Recent days have been challenging for me with my mom in hospice. Chris gave me my first great day in several – Thank you Jesus!
